The Museum's Location at Carlisle Castle
Is in a building called Queen Mary’s Tower, a 16th Century building in the Inner Ward of Carlisle Castle. Within its walls are the original military and barrack buildings dated from the early 19th Century, which were used as the Border Regiment’s Depot from 1873 to 1959.

The Regiment still has a presence here with its Regimental HQ, TA and Army Cadet Force and Recruitment Team.
