Kings Own Border Regimental Weekend  12th and 13th May 2012 

The sixth King’s Own Royal Border Regimental Weekend is to be held over the weekend of 12th to 13th May 2012 in Carlisle. All members of The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment are welcome to attend.

As you are by now aware the Regimental Museum is to move from its present location in the Inner Ward into Alma Block. Stuart Eastwood will give a conducted tour of Alma Block at 14:00 hrs on Saturday 12 May. It is requested that those, who are interested, report to the Museum beforehand.

The annual Thanksgiving Service on Sunday 13th will be held in the Cathedral at 13:00hrs. 

The programme for the weekend is:

SAT 12TH MAY 2012

19:00 for The King’s Own Royal Border Regiment Supper Dance at the 1930 hrs Shepherds Inn; Dress Jacket and Tie.

The cost of this event will be £22.00. PLEASE DOWN LOAD APPLICATION FORM

This will be for a three course meal and two bottles of wine per table of 10. You are requested to make your cheques payable to ‘The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment’. (Please inform CHQ if you wish to reserve places or a table).

Regimental Thanksgiving Service

12:30 hrs

Veterans, Soldiers and Cadets form up in the Castle (Veterans may join the Parade on Castle Street).

We are hoping that all Branches will be represented and that their Standards will be parading, on this special occasion.

It is hoped that elements of the 4th Battalion together with their Colours will be on parade.

13:00 hrs

Thanksgiving Service in the Cathedral.

13:45 hrs

March back to Castle.
Deputy Colonel of the Regiment takes salute.
Deputy Colonel of the Regiment to inspect the parade.
Deputy Colonel of the Regiment to present medals and awards.

14:15 hrs There will be a Curry Lunch provided in Burma Block, the cost for which will be £3.00.
