Enquiry Forms and Donation Forms

We do not make a fixed charge for research, but should you wish to make a donation to the Museum, which is independent and a Registered Charity, it would be gratefully received. All donations support the work of the Museum, the care of its collections and archives and research. Payment may be made by cheque or credit card and a donation form is enclosed. This also includes the facility to Gift Aid your donation, which if you are a tax-payer, enables the Museum as a Charity to reclaim the tax on your donation.
                                                                                                           
The Museum Trustees are currently engaged in a major fund-raising Appeal to relocate the Museum to a larger building in the Outer Ward of Carlisle Castle in 2011-12. We have recently received the news that the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) North West Region have agreed to grant us funding for the detailed development and planning work for the project (at the third time of applying). This work will lead to a second stage application hopefully  in March 2011 for a main grant of £900,000 from HLF. Our Appeal is targeted to raise £750,000 over two years as match funding for the project, which has an overall estimated cost of £1.65 million.
